UPDATE: Russian Helicopters gets Iranian bid for two Ka-226T helicopters
(Adds comments in paragraphs 4–8)
ANTALYA, Turkey, Apr 26 (PRIME) -- Russian Helicopters has received the first order from Iran for deliveries of two Ka-226T multi-purpose helicopters, CEO Andrei Boginsky said at Eurasia Airshow-2018 on Thursday.
“Talks are being held, I will not name the company yet, but there is a bid from Iran for first two Ka-226 helicopters,” he said.
Previously, upon request of Iran, a Ka-226T helicopter was tested in Iran in conditions of extremely high temperatures.
Boginsky also said that Turkey is considering buying more Ka-32 helicopters from Russia.
“Turkish colleagues are interested in expanding their fleet of Ka-32 helicopters for firefighting and special operations. We have now a contract for three vehicles – increasing the fleet to seven to eight units, in other words four to five more vehicles, is currently being discussed,” he said.
New supplies of Ka-32 helicopters to Turkey may start in 2019, he added.
Turkey is also interested in buying Russia’s Ansat multi-purpose helicopters, Boginsky said.
“They are very interested in Ansat (helicopters) as well. But we agreed to start talks on these vehicles once supplies of Ka-32 are completed.”
